Put down those tweezers and do away with facial hair forever
Fuzz on your upper lip, about the chin, sideburns or having a ‘mono-brow’ can be most embarrassing. It can affect one’s social life and be a major cause of insecurity resulting in withdrawal from normal social activities, shying away from close contact with others and creating awkward moments during intimacy.
FACELAB’s laser systems are suitable for both body and facial hair removal.
- Facelab’s Fotona lasers have a proven safety record when used correctly for hair removal
- Unlike conventional hair removal treatments, laser hair removal is permanent
- Multiple treatments are necessary, the number of sessions depends on many factors, some are thickness and colour of hair, time of hair growth cycle.
- The special Laser systems used at Facelab ensure negligible collateral skin damage
- Our highly trained FACELAB clinicians will make sure that your treatment is effective and painless.
*Individual results may vary
The face is always on display, so unlike body hair, it seems as though everyone you come into contact with is focusing on those unwanted follicles.
Unlike plucking, waxing, shaving, threading, depilatory creams and other topicals, laser facial hair removal when performed correctly is permanent.
Optimal results are achieved when proper patient preparation protocols are followed and the treatment carried out at the appropriate stage of hair growth. Ideal candidates for laser hair removal are those with lighter coloured skin tones and dark hair in the ‘active growth phase’ of the hair growth cycle. Treatments always need to be repeated as not all hair follicles will be in that growth phase at the time of lasering. Anywhere from 3 to 8 treatments may be necessary.
Patient preparation is also important. Before laser hair removal, plucking or waxing should be avoided for at least 2 weeks and then the hair shaved prior to treatment. It is also very important to cleans and disinfect the region before treatment, so attending a Facelab clinic for your treatment is not only effective but safe as well. Before treating patients with laser hair removal, we perform a pre-test. This is a type of calibration procedure, whereby we can make small adjustments to the laser’s power settings to achieve the best results and minimise any risks.
In laser hair removal, the laser emits a particular wavelength of energy that targets the melanin (pigment) in the hair shaft and follicle. The energy is absorbed by the pigment causing a slight increase in temperature, destroying the hair follicle along with its stem cell while protecting the surrounding tissue where the melanin concentration is lower to minimal.
