Can Fat Dissolving Injections be used in other parts of the face?
Fat Dissolving Injections can be used all over the body, however at Facelab we use it primarily for double chin reduction. In other areas of the face where excess fat can be isolated, small amounts can injected; however some minor risks exist, so the experienced clinicians at Facelab will be able to assess those areas before treatment.
I have heard that only specially trained clinicians can offer these 'fat dissolving' injections?
Yes, the Facelab clinicians who perform these fat dissolving injections known as Kybella, Belkyra and Lipposdissolve have been trained in the United States of America by expert trainers and are certified to use these products.

Our bodies contain chemicals that help in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fats; they are called enzymes. ‘Fat Dissolving Injections’ includes a synthetic version of these enzymes. When these chemicals come into contact with fat cells, the cell wall breaks down, allowing the fat to leak out. The body's immune system then eliminates the fat in a very similar way to how digested fat is broken down in our stomach and intestines.
Up to four treatments are required a month or so apart depending on the patient's outcome that they want to achieve. Once the fat is dissolved and eliminated from the body, it’s gone forever!
Some people report a warm feeling in the areas injected following treatment with some minor swelling and bruising. We consider that good as it is an indication that the treatment is working.
